In Texas??
I thought this only happened in pinko commie terrorist-loving liberal lands!
We are a group of friends and acquaintances -- a merry band of pranksters indeed -- who have been arguing about politics on-and-off, then really on, then a little off... since 1998. On email. But that meant literally thousands of emails a year. That was too many. So here's the blog dedicated to carrying on that spirit of political and pop culture argument and dialogue. You might think of us as "schmoliticians", because while we take politics seriously, we try not to take ourselves quite so.

What's next--arresting people at car dealerships because they may drive recklessly with their new cars? Arresting people at gun stores because they may commit a crime with the guns they purchase?
To me, this just seems to be a discriminatory practice on the part of the police--almost akin to racial profiling. They're targeting a population--people at bars--for unfair and unlawful screening based on a presumption of guilt simply for being in a bar.
Yeah, they tried this crap up in Reston/Herndon and people went nuts there. I'm surprised there hasn't been bloodshed and revolution in Texas.
I mean, you can have a gun and an open container in a moving vehicle, but you can't be drunk in a bar? This is just an example of a bureaucrat bucking for promotion or having waaaay too much free time on their hands.
