Politics Schmolitics
We are a group of friends and acquaintances -- a merry band of pranksters indeed -- who have been arguing about politics on-and-off, then really on, then a little off... since 1998. On email. But that meant literally thousands of emails a year. That was too many. So here's the blog dedicated to carrying on that spirit of political and pop culture argument and dialogue. You might think of us as "schmoliticians", because while we take politics seriously, we try not to take ourselves quite so.

I was likewise displeased about Chavez's grandstanding and detraction of our president on our soil. Good for the Democrats for voicing their disdain. I think it says a great deal about the bipartisanship of patriotism when both sides of the aisle condemn Chavez's remarks. I think it is also worth commending Bush and his administration for taking the comments in stride and not engaging in a reactionary pissing contest. Oh, and fuck Citgo petroleum.
Chavez is such a whacko, its usually just fun to sit back with a drink that has an umbrella in it and watch the show. But this was a bit much...
I like Chavez. The only reason he can do or say anything is that Venezuela has oil reserves out the wazoo... He's such a douchebag, it's really pretty sweet.
The only reason he can do or say anything and have anyone PAY ATTENTION is because Venezuela has oil reserves out the wazoo. I'm sure there are nut jobs in places like Botswana and Papua New Guinea that call Bush the devil and claim they invented the question mark every day, there just aren't any cameras around.
