So would you still hang a spoon on the door?
The Student Senate of the College of William and Mary has requested that the school's administration adopt a 'gender-blind' housing option, allowing co-ed dorm rooms. Proponents argue the policy change would help avoid uncomfortable situations caused by gay and straight same-sex roommates.
In other W&M news, the Senate also passed the Defense of Nightlife Act, in the hopes of thwarting the takeover by the Starbucks Corporation of the property currently held by the College Delly. Citing the need for more nightlife options in Williamsburg, Senator Zach Pilchen also noted that Starbucks "generally sucks".

Coed dorm issue in a nutshell (here's the qoute that I found most laughable): "If they break up, or have an argument, they deal with it," he said. "The fact of the matter is, they're adults, and they can behave responsibly, as adults." BAHAHAHA! I can only assume this guy never had a girlfriend on campus.
College Deli: I'm a bit confused. IS the Deli private property or owned by the College? If it's college owned, I bid a fond "fuck off" to Starbucks and their bitter, overpriced coffees. If it's privately ownned property, well . . . Dean's in the money, Dean's in the money . . .
My favorite part:
"His addition to the Nightlife Act aims to cover 'anything that approximates the nightlife students would enjoy,' hypothetically adding that the clause could even support 'a strip club.'"
Yes, THAT'S going to help your cause Einstein.
His profile is a hoot. Worth reading: http://www.wm.edu/so/studentassembly/2009/index.php?memberid=zbpilc
To answer Todd's question, the property is owned by 'Constantine Tsamouras' a/k/a Dean, who also happens to own 8 other Williamsburg properties, in addition to two restaurants in Yorktown.
Accorting to the Flat Hat, Starbucks has commented that "the lease hasn't been executed yet." So it appears that the property will stay in the Tsamouras family.
Heh, heh..."family" is the right word.

Heh heh. Good 'ol Dean. My wife actually worked at one of his places, the "Capitol Pancake House". Good times.
I told her about the "situation" with the Greek and Chinese "restauranteers" in The Burg, and she laughed and said, "That explains a lot." :)
WAIT!! What situation? Please explain...
That the "restauranteurs" are also in the laundry business, if you know what I mean.
