Professor fired for "re-enacting" VT shooting
Video here.
My questions: is talking about an event like this in anything other than hushed tones a cultural taboo? Why? With the limited information we have, do we believe an educator in this role should be censored for his views? And, was his message pro-gun or pro-dialogue on the topic of guns on campuses?

I saw an article on this a couple of days ago. The statement from the college quoted in the article (different from in the clip) seemed almost like a non sequitor, talking about not tolerating discrimination, etc. From that, I wondered whether more had gone down than the teacher and students mentioned in the article.
This video would say, no, just the re-enactment and discussion about guns, death, etc. went down, nothing racial, discriminatory, etc.
I cannot agree with the college on this one. It seems like the PR department is running the school. I know the guy was supposed to be teaching accounting or something like that, but if you can discuss college classroom violence (that happened in the last week) in a college classroom, then WTF?
I don't care if his message was pro-gun, anti-gun, or whatever. College should be about open discussion, especially of significant events like this.
