Bud Pong pulled from shelves...
It may not be fair to classify this as political, but it is interesting.
Can you imagine AB's press office dealing with this story? They probably sent the e-mail response to avoid cracking up over the phone. I mean, come on. Who would play a game call 'Bud Pong' with water????

Wow! Talk about not passing the laugh test. I especially like the way AB's statements make it sound like they believe they have "invented" a new game. My favorite part of the article is:
"The company said it was pulling the promotion, and did not want perceptions of the 'Bud Pong' game to conflict with a $500 million campaign to promote responsible drinking, Katz said."
Gee, ya think it might be viewed as in conflict? Of course, in my perhaps-cynical view, the release of this game EXACTLY jives with AB's "responsible drinking" campaign: that is, it mocks it.
My favorite Busch comment is "despite our explicit guidelines" not to use beer while playing Pong. Large corporations are so adept at sidestepping culpability.
Busch lied. People imbibed.
But if the directions do not fit, you must acquit!
Where's the Bud Pong expansion pack called "Beirut"? You know that would have been a popular corporate marketing move!
