Politics Schmolitics
We are a group of friends and acquaintances -- a merry band of pranksters indeed -- who have been arguing about politics on-and-off, then really on, then a little off... since 1998. On email. But that meant literally thousands of emails a year. That was too many. So here's the blog dedicated to carrying on that spirit of political and pop culture argument and dialogue. You might think of us as "schmoliticians", because while we take politics seriously, we try not to take ourselves quite so.

Man, Delay's mug shot sure looks better than Barber's did. It looks more like a congressional year book picture than a perp pic. That big ole' smile is probably his prophetic satisfaction in what will likely be a not guilty verdict.
I think 'not guilty' is a likely verdict when he hadn't actually broken the law. Don't forget that some of the actions he's charged with were not actually crimes when he may or may not have committed them. Kind of like the opposite of Minority Report, I suppose.
Sure, those actions might be crimes now, but so what? If the city installs a traffic light at your intersection, they can't convict you of running it the years before it was there.
Was Earle absent the day they taught law in law school? Isn't there something called ex post facto? Lawyers - some clarification please?
