Politics Schmolitics
We are a group of friends and acquaintances -- a merry band of pranksters indeed -- who have been arguing about politics on-and-off, then really on, then a little off... since 1998. On email. But that meant literally thousands of emails a year. That was too many. So here's the blog dedicated to carrying on that spirit of political and pop culture argument and dialogue. You might think of us as "schmoliticians", because while we take politics seriously, we try not to take ourselves quite so.

I got an A+ (350 points out of a possible 350... without cheating) Bring it, GOP-boy! (OK, I admit I guessed on the Sec. Gen of the UN-designate/Emperor of Japan question.)
My one issue with this test is the characterization of Paris Hilton as a 'model, actress.' I would have thought 'vapid, superficial socialite-for-hire' would have been more appropriate. I did, however, enjoy the (physically) ironic juxtaposition of Dennis Hastert and Christina Aguilera.
I also guessed on the Ban-Moon question, and missed it! I needed Harris sitting next to me on that one! Otherwise, I can vote in good conscience tomorrow, despite the obviously unconscionable decisions I will be making when I cast my vote.
I smoked it, also without cheating, first time. I am feeling AWESOME!!! F*ck yeah! Wooo! Yeah motherf*ckers!
"You scored 350 out of 350 possible points, or 100.00% A+
Not only should you vote, you should consider a career in politics."
They could have made it more confusing with Reid, Hastert, Pelosi by tossing in things like "whip" and the "other" legislative house. That would have tripped me up for sure.
So typically American to think that you only know what is going on if you recognize someone's picture (it's not news unless there is video). How does that qualify you for voting?
BTW--I got a C+ and you can't convince me Madonna is not the first lady of America.
@jeffx: I don't really understand your point. Perhaps you could provide some sort of visual...
"You scored 336 out of 350 possible points, or 96.00%"
Strangely enough, I also missed the Ban-Moon question, selecting him instead as Komatsu Akihito, Emperor of Japan. I had picked him (correctly) as Ban-Moon first off, thinking that he looked Korean, not Japanese, but changed my mind because none of the titles seemed to match.
D'oh!
