Breaking News by Budlong
Rumsfeld is stepping down as Secretary of Defense. A couple of days late, if you ask me. Film at 11:00.
We are a group of friends and acquaintances -- a merry band of pranksters indeed -- who have been arguing about politics on-and-off, then really on, then a little off... since 1998. On email. But that meant literally thousands of emails a year. That was too many. So here's the blog dedicated to carrying on that spirit of political and pop culture argument and dialogue. You might think of us as "schmoliticians", because while we take politics seriously, we try not to take ourselves quite so.

If you're looking around the Cabinet meeting wondering who the fall guy is going to be...its you!
Good riddance. Go screw around at the World Bank like Robert McNamara. Can't wait for the first history book to come out titled "Donald Rumsfeld and America's Second Vietnam".
You should seriously copywrite that book title, Pete.
It's awesome how quickly Bush threw a bone to voters. It's like Rummy was the proverbial virgin sacrifice (even though he's hardly virginal and wasn't exactly sacrificed, just politically).
Something that I did not previously know: Robert Gates, former CIA chief and current nominee to replace Rummy as SecDef, is a William & Mary graduate (class of 1965).
