21 too many.

This makes me sick. I don't care who they were. I KNOW who we are: Americans. We don't do that. Period.

Agreed. How can accuse other countries of human rights abuses, while we beat and torture prisoners? Its interesting that the Army spokesperson in that article says that type of behavior isn't "tolerated". If that were the case, there wouldn't be 400 investigations of detainee abuse. And, that's probably just the tip of the iceburg. I'm sure for every one incident that is reported, there are ten that aren't reported. Its shameful.

The truly shameful part is when the generals, DOD higher-ups, and intelligence officials are caught, they throw some poor private or corporal under the bus and duck all responsibility themselves. The individuals of whatever rank who engage in this sort of despicable activity should pay for their crimes, but privates & corporals do go to the bathroom without permission, let alone torture prisoners, in front of others, while being recorded by cameras. Its ludicrous for DOD to claim they do. I want to see some general officers with their heads on the chopping block and their careers lying in ruins. THAT's when we'll put a stop to this for good. As long as senior officers and officials can give orders like this and then walk away, it'll continue.

I suspect the two star general who ordered all of this was given his third star and quietly transferred somewhere quiet to let the heat dissipate. He'll probably be added to the Joint Chiefs some day based on his "heroic service" in Iraq. Shameful.
